REMINDER Spaces Available for 2015 World Jamboree

The cost isn’t cheap, but the memories are sure to be priceless. There’s still time to register for the

2015 WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE, held July 28 to Aug. 8 in Kirara-hama, Japan, a beach located in the Yamaguchi Prefecture. The cost is $5,750 for youth and adult

leaders and $2,000 for members joining the International Service Team, a group of volunteers from around the globe. The fee for participants includes

roundtrip airfare from a commercial airport near the participant’s home, a two- or three-day tour of Japan, lodging, ground transportation, meals and more. The IST fee covers lodging and meals

at the jamboree, accident and sickness insurance, and regional and national office program support. The IST fee does not include airfare. The event is open to Scouts ages 14

to 17. Venturers ages 18 to 20 can attend as part of the International Service Team or as assistant leaders with the BSA’s contingent. Speaking of which, the BSA plans

to send approximately 1,600 people to Japan as part of its contingent. That’s roughly 5 percent of the 30,000 Scouts and leaders from 161 countries around the world expected to be there. In other words, if you or your Scouts or

Venturers attend, the odds are great for once-in-a-lifetime encounters with Scouts from countries you only hear about during the Olympics or see on a map. To learn more or to sign up, go to

scouting.org/worldjamboree. Questions? Call the International team

at 972-580-2489 or send an email to worldscoutjamboree@scouting.org.
