GOTTA HAVE IT HOT-SHOWER POWER

What’s the weather forecast for next year’s jambo- ree? Warm days, cool nights, and cold showers—and not the kind that fall from the sky. But if you’d like a nice, warm shower after a

sweaty day of hiking, mountain biking, zip-lining and more, consider NEMO’S HELIO PRESSURE SHOWER. Just fill the Helio’s 11-liter welded-fabric water

COUNTDOWN TO JAMBOREE GET FIT FOR SUMMER

Here’s a New Year’s resolution you’ll want to stick to: Help your units get fit for the 2013 National Scout Jamboree. Start by checking out the BSA’s new SCOUTStrong site at scouting.org/ scoutstrong. Under headings such as “Physically Strong” and “Mentally Awake,” you’ll find a wealth of Scout-approved sources for getting fit, eating properly, and maintaining emotional health. The news aggregator offers health-related news stories, blogs,

podcasts, and videos from a variety of experts, says David Roberts, senior innovation specialist. For more fitness tips, turn to Page 42.

GET A MOVE ON

Is it too late to register for the jamboree? No, but … “It’s not too late for a council to take applicants, if they move

quickly,” says Larry Pritchard, national jamboree director. “If someone hasn’t made his or her mind up about coming, contact your local council. The council will find a way to get them there.” Pritchard also notes that travel plans for the jambo “should be

in the finalizing stages now.” Contact Travel Management Services at 800-437-7629 or tms.com/2013jamboree.

GET IN GEAR

Already registered and ready to show off your jambo pride? Look for a full selection of 2013 National Scout Jamboree gear in your own participant or staff-member copy of the 2013 Jamboree Mailer—arriving in mailboxes in mid-February. It’s packed with more exciting presale items than ever before

and offers solutions for staying cool, dry, and comfortable—while commemorating the historic occasion. And it’s only for registered youth and adults. Look for the PIN printed on the back of the mailer. You’ll need it to place orders and access the jamboree retail shop at scoutstuff.org. Select items will also be available for Scouts, Scouters, and parents who aren’t attending the jamboree.
